Swimming Safety

We met with Belinda Waters, Covenant Children’s Trauma Coordinator, to talk about how to keep your kids safe this summer. We are heading into Summer so pools will begin to get packed with kids. The main risk of swimming is drowning. An easy way to lower this risk is by having your children take swimming lessons at a young age. It is also imperative to have an adult watch a child while they are swimming. It is suggested for adults to take 15 minute shifts. Even though there are some risks with swimming, there are a lot of health benefits as well. Swimming is a great way to get cardio in while having fun.
