Tadlock Stays With Tech, Ending UT Speculation

Texas Tech head baseball coach Tim Tadlock ended media speculation that started in Austin Tuesday.

On Twitter, Tadlock said late in the afternoon, “To end all speculation, my family and I are Red Raiders. We are looking forward to finishing what we started. #WTT”

Tadlock was the latest target for the Texas Longhorns according to Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesmen.

Texas began its search for a replacement when Augie Garrido announced he would not return on May 30.

Tadlock signed a six-year contract extension with Texas Tech on May 18 but it does not officially go into effect until July 1.

According to language in Tadlock’s contract extension, Texas Tech has the right to take Tadlock to court if he violates the non-compete considerations:

“The University shall have the right to obtain from any court such equitable, injunctive, or other relief as may be appropriate, including a decree enjoining Coach from performing coaching-related services for any Conference school.”

Tadlock just completed his fourth season at Texas Tech with a second trip to the College World Series.
