Are you a fan of South Plains politics? Here are your Talking Points for this week.

So the election is over, right? The Electoral College still has to do its work to make it official. That’s amidst protests, threats and pressure not to let a Trump presidency happen.

So what does George W. Bush have to say? He won’t critize the new president but that doesn’t mean that Bush doesn’t have plent to say about Mr. Trump’s police plans.

Also this week, a running start. The state legislative session doesn’t start until January 10, 2017. Lawmakers have already began putting ideas on paper this week and filed the bills that they’ll introduce for consideration to become state law. Some of these proposed laws include one to make it illegal for a child to join a labor union. Another proposed bill would toss our the state tax on feminine hygene products.
