Are you a fan of South Plains politics? Here are your Talking Points for this week.

First off we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah from all of us at Talking Points.

It was a minor revolt of sorts but a historic seven people weren’t enough to keep Mr. Trump out of the White House. History will record these electors in the Electoral College cast their votes for Colin Powell, John Kasich and someone named “Faith Spotted Eagle.”

America has a long history of keeping the government out of churches. After a recent incident in Houston, state leaders may make sure Texas pastors and priests are protected. Local church leaders are shouting Hallelujah.

Also this week, it’s a lawsuit for the holidays Charlie Brown. Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing to keep “Christ” in Christmas. It started after a Texas school district asked a teacher to remove her classroom holiday decorations that displayed a Christian message.

Talking Points with Bryan Mudd airs each Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday evenings at 11:05 p.m.
