Are you a fan of South Plains politics? Here are your Talking Points for this week.

President Trump’s cabinet choices have been called everything from “racist” to “shills for the Russians.” The person drawing the most ire from the non-politicians, strangly enough, is Mr. Trump’s choice to lead your children’s schools.

What do you think about your paster or parish priest offering direct endorsements of political candidates. They could do it now but it could cost some churches big money. We’ll talk about the political fix that might come from the White House.

Also this week we recap the debate this past week in Austin and here at home over “sanctuary cities.” The Texas Senate passed a bill last week that will effectively abolish sanctuary cities. Senate Bill 4, authored by Lubbock’s Charles Perry, withholds state dollars for sanctuary cities in which police fail to enforce immigration laws at the request of federal officials cleared the Texas Senate on Wednesday.

Talking Points with Bryan Mudd airs each Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday evenings at 11:05 p.m.
