Are you a fan of South Plains politics? Here are your Talking Points for this week.

We don’t know how many people really thought the FBI director would walk out this past week and actually recommend arresting a presidential nominee. To say no after admitting Hillary Clinton did a lot of the things she said she didn’t do left a lot of local politicians shaking their heads.

And you’ll have to look twice to recognize the new Lubbock City Council. The last of the run-off winners are in and we;ll at why it really takes for a newcomer to learn how to run the city.

Also this week a lot of red state Texans seem to want to vote for the Donald Trump out of party loyalty. But then we get comments like we saw this week. Trump said he regretted deleting a tweet a lot of folks saw as anti-Semitic and  then re-affirming his praise for one ‘Saddam Hussein’. While Texans roll their eyes, they’re also saying they want to see more “Trump-like” immigration policies. Immigration is your number one voter issue, according to a new ‘Texas Politics Project’ poll.
