The South Plains Mall has prepared for the 2016 Texas sales tax holiday for weeks with new inventory, sale preparations and renovations.

Ashley Knox, the Marketing Manager at the South Plains Mall, said stores are expecting more than just Lubbock residents over the weekend.

“That’s one of the things we have talked a lot about is that the crowds not only will they be big with our local communities and surrounding areas, but bringing in our friends from eastern New Mexico,” Knox said.

Sue Drysdale, the Sales Associate at Hippie Chic, said it’s all about presentation of the clothing within the store.

“It’s having the people here to get it tagged properly and get the store merchandise where it’s appealing to the customer and making sure that we have plenty for our three day sale,” Drysdale said.

The South Plains Mall is offering deals for the weekend and holiday business hours on the mall website. The South Plains Mall App is also available to for shoppers looking find certain products within the store. Shoppers can find more tax free weekend information here.
