Texas Tech(38-13) blew the game open in the ninth inning at Abilene Christian University to take the season sweep of the Wildcats and a 7-2 victory.
Tanner Gardner reached on a fielding error by the first baseman, allowing Michael Davis and Stephen Smith to score(5-2). Cory Raley would bring in Gardner and Orlando Garcia in the next at bat to balloon the lead to 7-2.
Gardner also registered a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, finishing with a team high of two RBI(also tied with Raley).
After starter Erikson Lanning gave up two earned runs in the second inning, Tech pitchers combined to only give up four hits(and no earned runs) the rest of the way.
