The Texas Tech Student Government Association and The Office of the President are hosting the first ever Tech to Town service day, tomorrow – Saturday, April 9th. Tech to Town was designed by Tech students as a service day to give a big “Thank You!” to the City of Lubbock
Approximately 800 Tech student volunteers will team up with Code Enforcement, Keep Lubbock Beautiful, Solid Waste, Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Stormwater Utilities, and Citibus on a variety of projects throughout our city that will benefit our community and these students’ collegiate hometown.
Council Member Jeff Griffith, who has been working with the Tech Student Government Association, said, “There has been a terrific turnout of student volunteers for this first ever Tech to Town Service Day. We are so honored to have these students working with our City departments on projects that will make a positive difference in our community. We hope this becomes an annual event. I want to thank Texas Tech University, the Student Government Association, and all these great student volunteers.”
