There are applications available now that can help you track your phone when it’s lost but those applications only work when your phone is shown to be “online,” if your phone is dead you won’t be able to track it.

LocShark is a phone case that has GPS tracking built into it. This allows you to track your phone even if it is dead. Armani Williams, CEO of LocShark, says they have been working to develop the phone case for two to three years and they are hoping to have the phone cases delivered to their buyers by February or March.

Sgnl is a new invention that turns your finger into a phone receiver. This wristband attaches to your watch or smartwatch. Sgnl band is connected to your phone via Bluetooth, allowing the band to answer phone calls.

Han Nryu, with Innomdle Lab in South Korea, helped developed Sgnl, explains how the band translates the sound into a vibration.  Nryu explained, “So it hits the air in your ear and it becomes a sound again.”

Sgnl isn’t available just yet but its inventors plan to have it out next year for the price of $150 dollars.
