A new medical start-up is billing as the doctor’s office of the future. The high-tech experience means no waiting rooms or paperwork.
Silicon Valley alum Ilya Abyzon co-founded the medical practice, Forward. Abyzon said the mission is to get health care up to speed with the times.
“Our doctor’s experience looks like it’s from the 1980s,” Abyzon said.
Forward patients are sent to get a body scan, and that data is sent to monitors in the examination rooms. A Bluetooth stethoscope displays the patient’s heart rate on the screen.
Forward also uses infrared devices to find veins to draw blood on the first try. Forward’s artificial intelligence analyzes the information and suggests a diagnosis and treatment plan. All medical records are sent to an app on your smartphone.
Dr. Nate Favini, Forward physician, said the technology makes a big difference during appointments. He added that less time waiting for test results means more time with his patients.
There’s a monthly fee of $149 to join Forward, and it doesn’t accept health insurance.
