Ford and Domino’s are teaming up to bring customers self-driving delivery cars. Domino’s currently promises hot pizza delivered in 30 minutes or less.
Both companies are testing out the self-driving delivery cars in Miami. Here’s how it works: Some customers who order their pizza digitally are given a self-driving delivery option. If they select ‘yes,’ they receive a series of text updates until their pizza arrives outside their home.
For now, Ford is manning these autonomous car models with drivers to map out the city and perfect their technology. The car giant hopes to have fully autonomous cars on the road by 2021.
