Students Traded Braille Writers for an iPad

Apple is known for being user friendly but know they are revolutionizing the way students learn and interact in the digital world.

At the oldest schools for the blind in the United States, nearly three hundred students are learning to see the world in a whole new way each student has their own iPad.

Even with their vision impairment the students are doing away with the outdated clunky braille writers for tablets that can do so much more.

Executive Director with New York Institute for Special Education, Bernadette Kappen, Ph.D. said,“It’s an opportunity to be more literate and have material at the same time as their sighted peers. You can have screen enlargement, voice over for the totally blind.”

The use of iPad’s is making the students dreams come true.
