Last night, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at approximately 10:24 p.m., patrol officers responded to a disturbance call at 1301 Ave A, Grace Campus.
The victim and the suspect have been living under the overpass in the 1300 block of Avenue A. The suspect approached victim’s property and took some of victim’s items without his consent. The victim attempted to prevent the suspect from committing the theft. The suspect produced a metal pipe and struck the victim numerous times with the metal pipe causing the victim serious bodily injury. The suspect fled to 1301 Avenue A where he was apprehended by officers. The victim, Billy Castner – 55, was transported to UMC with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Jail.
