The Texas Department of Public Safety released information Tuesday concerning a deadly crash on Sunday evening.
DPS said Payton Ross Jennings, 19, of Big Spring was driving a pickup truck along Farm to Market Road 3033 northeast of Stanton. DPS said Jennings went off the right side of the road.
“The driver overcorrected the vehicle back towards the roadway causing the vehicle to rollover,” DPS said. “The driver was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene.”
DPS said the passenger, Andrew Summers, 33, sustained incapacitating injuries and was air-lifted to Odessa. DPS said conditions were dry and clear. DPS did not list a reason for the truck to veer off the right side of the road.
DPS said both Jennings and Summers did not have seat belts on during the crash.
