BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK, TX — Multiple closures are scheduled for Big Bend National Park in Texas for several months this coming summer.
The closures are due to staffing shortages and are to ensure the safety of both visitors and the park employees.
The closures will run from June 1 and will progressively be lifted starting October 1.
The majority of Big Bend National Park facilities and campsites will remain open to the public for regular usage.
Below is a list of temporary closures:
- Cottonwood Campground Car and Campsites
- Rio Grande Village Campground (all but the first loop)
- Old Maverick Road Back Country Car Camping site
