The Potter County Sheriff’s Office said two men were arrested for making terroristic threats on a Greyhound bus traveling through the Texas Panhandle on Interstate 40 Sunday afternoon.

Passengers on the bus called 911 about 1:00 p.m. to report other passengers making comments about having a bomb, authorities said.

The bus was stopped by authorities just east of Amarillo and searched. The Potter County Sheriff’s Office said no bomb was found on the bus.

Interstate 40 was shut down for about three hours near Exit 78. Officials say westbound traffic is now open and eastbound traffic is expected to reopen shortly.

Potter County officials and the FBI are continuing to investigate. The names of the two individuals arrested have not been released.
