By a vote of 6-0, the Shallowater School District board has approved the hiring of Chad Terry to be the new head football coach and athletic director.

Terry comes to Shallowater from Plains High School where he held the same position. Terry has a career record of 90-64 with stops at Plains, Slaton and Sundown. Terry also was the offensive coordinator at Coronado High School from 2011-12.

Terry takes over a Shallowater team from Kyle Maxfield, who left in early April to take the head coaching job at Brownwood. Last year, the Mustangs finished 10-3 and advanced to the regional quarterfinals.
