A Waco father of a 3-month-old baby was arrested Wednesday after he was accused of attacking the child’s mother.  Police said Treyshon Ervin strangled the mother and banged her head inside a car while she was holding the baby.

The mother claimed Treyshon got angry when she received a text message.

When the mother was able to step out of the car, police said the father kept the child and drove off with the baby on his lap.

Ervin was arrested at an East Waco home after the baby’s mother called for help.

“There was obviously some previous history because the mother of our victim did not want the suspect in her house because of some past issues,” said Sgt. Patrick Swanton, Waco police.

Ervin was charged for assault, reckless driving and endangerment of a child.
