The Texas DPS in Midland released the following Saturday afternoon concerning a reported officer-involved shooting in Odessa Friday evening. The statement is a follows:
On April 1, 2016, Texas Rangers were called to investigate an officer involved shooting in Odessa, Texas.
The subjects involved were Joel Fabela, 37, of Odessa and Jody Teague Threadgill, 36, of Odessa. As a result of the shooting, Joel Fabela was pronounced deceased at the scene. Jody Threadgill fled the scene and is currently a fugitive from justice.
This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
