Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt announced an agreement Tuesday to play North Carolina State in a future non-conference home-and-home football series. The series will take place in the years 2022 (Raleigh, N.C.) and 2027 (Lubbock).

North Carolina State (2022 and 2027) joins Pac-12 Conference members Arizona State (2016 and 2017) and Arizona (2019 and 2020) as Power Five opponents on Texas Tech’s future football schedules. In other planned home-and-home series, Tech is scheduled to face Houston four times (2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022), UTEP twice (2019 and 2020) and Wyoming twice (2020 and 2023).

Texas Tech’s other future non-conference single games are scheduled against Eastern Washington (2017), Missouri State (2018) and Montana State (2019).

The Red Raiders are 1-4 all-time against the Wolfpack, with their last meetings taking place in 2002 and 2003 as part of another scheduled home-and-home series.

Texas Tech opens its 2016 season at Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Stephen F. Austin. In addition, Tech’s home schedule features 2015 bowl team Louisiana Tech (Sept. 17), Big 12 Conference opener Kansas (Thursday, Sept. 29), 2015 bowl team West Virginia (Oct. 15), 2015 CFP playoff team Oklahoma (Oct. 22) and Texas (Nov. 5).
