Texas Tech just couldn’t stop a hot-shooting, top-ranked Oklahoma team on the road in a 91-67 loss in Norman, Ok.
The main offensive bright spot against the Sooners was Justin Gray coming off the bench to score 20 points.
The Sooners countered with their star, Buddy Hield, who poured in 30 on the night.
“They’re the most impressive team we’ve seen thus far,” head coach Tubby Smith told 97.3FM in a postgame interview. “You don’t want to get into a shooting contest with this team…we just ran into the number on team in the country!”
Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, they couldn’t hold OU to a low percentage from the field: 53% from the field and 52% from behind the arc.
Devaugntah Williams added 12 points, and Matt Temple contributed 11 to the cause in the loss.
