Texas Tech was outscored 38-21 by Iowa State in the second half, as they fell to the Cyclones, 63-56.

The Red Raiders lead Iowa State at the half, 35-25, with their senior forward Anthony Livingston leading the way with 13 points on 5-for-7 from the field, including 3-for-5 from deep. However, in the second half Livingston went cold, going scoreless on 0-for-3 shooting from the field.

Texas Tech (11-2, 0-1 Big 12) was also plagued by the turnover bug throughout the contest. The Red Raiders turned it over 15 times, leading to 14 points Iowa State points. Another back-breaker for Tech was the difference in their field goal percentage between the first and second halves. In the first half Tech shot 48.4% from the field, compared to 26.% in the second half.

Coming into the contest the Cyclones were ranked 4th nationally in total rebounds per game, and the Red Raiders answered the call. Tech out-rebounded ISU 42-27, but it was not enough due to Tech’s carelessness with the ball.

Texas Tech will be back in action when they host #11 West Virginia on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 8:15 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPNews and will be simulcast on the WatchESPN App.
