Texas Tech University has been ranked the best college financial literacy program in the country by LendEDU.
Texas Tech’s financial literacy program, Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching, offers peer-to-peer financial coaching to Texas Tech students. It also provides individual coaching sessions and group presentations on topics including creating spending plans; the importance of starting to save early; maximizing financial aid, including student loans; how to choose employee benefits; and establishing and wisely using credit.
“Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching is proud to be able to play a role in helping Texas Tech have the No. 1 financial literacy program in the nation,” said Angela Mazzolini, director of the program. “Our peer financial coaches are extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to providing excellent service to Texas Tech students through individual coaching sessions, group presentations and workshops.”
The ranking was attributed to the success of Red to Black as well as Texas Tech’s America Saves Week, a weeklong event featuring numerous financial literacy workshops, and the Raider Relief Fund, which offers financial assistance to qualified applicants for living and other educational expenses.
