The 2017 Best Online Programs rankings released today (Jan. 10) by U.S. News and World Report place Texas Tech University’s Worldwide eLearning programs among the best in the nation.

The university was ranked in four areas: Best Online Graduate Computer Information Programs (No. 6), Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs (No. 17), Best Online Graduate Education Programs (No. 109) and Best Online Bachelor’s Programs (No. 110).

“Our university is committed to providing students with a high-quality Texas Tech education from anywhere,” said Justin R. Louder, associate vice provost of Worldwide eLearning. “Not only do our faculty members provide first-rate instruction, but the institution offers 24/7, year-round support to our online and distance Red Raiders. These rankings reflect Texas Tech’s commitment to our Worldwide eLearning students.”

The survey of more than 1,300 online programs includes general rankings of each institution’s online bachelor’s degree programs and discipline-specific rankings of online master’s programs. The programs are listed in a searchable directory, which prospective students can use to find information about tuition, online services and other data.

U.S. News and World Report evaluates the eLearning programs separately from the institution as a whole in order to provide a clear picture of the services and programs available specifically to distance learners. Data is gathered by a statistical survey and analyzed based on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation and admissions selectivity.

Texas Tech Worldwide eLearning offers more than 60 fully online degree, certification and certification preparation programs. Seven regional teaching sites across the state in El Paso, Fredericksburg, Highland Lakes, Junction, Waco, Collin County and Cleburne give students access to on-site instructors, technology and tools. The degrees earned online and at regional sites are the same as those earned at Texas Tech’s Lubbock campus.
