Texas Tech University hosts its summer commencement ceremonies.
WHEN:
Saturday (Aug. 13):
- 9 a.m.; Rawls College of Business, Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering, College of Human Sciences, University Programs, College of Visual & Performing Arts, Wind Energy and Graduate School.
- 1:30 p.m.; College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, Architecture, Arts & Sciences, Education, Media Communication and Graduate School.
WHERE:
United Supermarkets Arena, 1701 Indiana Ave.
EVENT:
Andres Alcantar, alumnus and chairman for the Texas Workforce Commission, will speak at both ceremonies. His experience includes directing the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, advising former Gov. George W. Bush in the Office of Budget and Planning and serving as deputy director of the Governor’s Budget, Planning and Policy Division. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public administration from Texas Tech.
