Texas Tech Students Raise Funds for Injured Friend

Brandon Robinson, a 23 year old Texas Tech Law student, was injured in a motorcycle accident on July 5th.

He was care flighted to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas where he is in ICU in stable but critical condition.

Lexa Willen, a family friend of Robinson, said he’s a fun and outgoing individual.

” He’s someone everyone wants to be around, I don’t think you meet him and forget him,” Willen said.

She also said Robinson sustained severe injuries to his right side, collapsed lungs and swelling to the brain. She added doctors had to unexpectedly amputate his right arm on Tuesday.

Robinson has no insurance, so a group of friends made a GoFundMe page for Robinson to help support his family to pay medical expenses.

“The GoFundMe page has been great, it’s overwhelming to see the type of support we have. Even the people who can’t give, we appreciate so much for sharing it, and praying for Brandon,” Willen said.

Texas Tech Law released a statement saying,” Our thoughts and prayers are with Brandon and his family during this difficult time. We have been in close contact with Brandon’s family, and while we know he has a tough road to recovery, we look forward to having him back at the law school.”
