The Big 12 Conference formally announced Thursday that Texas Tech’s road game against in-state rival Texas has been moved to Friday, Nov. 24 at Darrel K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday, Nov. 25.

The date change was made at the request of the Big 12 and its league television partners in ESPN and FOX Sports. In addition to Texas Tech’s game at Texas, the conference also announced that the Baylor and TCU contest in Fort Worth will also move to Nov. 24.

Texas Tech is familiar with playing on “Black Friday” after topping Baylor, 54-35, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington this past season. The Red Raiders had previously faced Texas on Thanksgiving Day in each of their last two trips to Austin.

Game times and television coverage for Texas Tech’s non-conference schedule and select Big 12 contests will be announced by the conference office later this summer.
