Texas Tech University will host a Small Business Expo from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (May 3) at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, located at 17th Street and University Avenue. The expo provides business owners with a forum for building strategic partnerships through a mutual exchange of information with government agencies and business representatives.
This event is for small business owners; potential business owners and entrepreneurs; local, state and federal government agents; and anyone who has an interest in nurturing small business. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to build strategic business partnerships. There is free admission and parking, door prizes, exhibitor samples and the opportunity to build a rapport with potential clients and partners.
“The Texas Tech Small Business Expo allows vendors within the region to identify contract opportunities with state and federal governmental agencies,” said Jennifer Adling, director for Procurement Services. “I believe vendors attending will leave the event with a better understanding of how to build strategic business opportunities.”
This expo is an opportunity to meet and network with more than 15 governmental agencies and 40 vendors. Attendees will learn about programs with governmental agencies for small and disadvantaged businesses.
“The admission is free for all vendors,” Adling said. “There will be presentations by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Texas Tech University Procurement Assistance Center, Office of Gov. Gregg Abbott and Economic Development and Tourism.”
