The Texas Tech University School of Law will host Diversity Week featuring two panel discussions, a screening and a discussion with Daniel D. Hu from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
All events are free and open to the public.

Monday (March 6):
Noon: The Story of the San Antonio Four
Elizabeth Ramirez, Kristie Mayhugh, Cassandra Rivera and Anna Vasquez were convicted in the late 1990s of aggravated sexual assault. They had recently come out as lesbians and prosecutors used their sexuality as a motive. They became known as the San Antonio Four and spent nearly 15 years in prison before being exonerated. All four as well as their attorney, Michael Ware, speak about their story and its legal implications.
5:30 p.m.: “Southwest of Salem: the Story of the San Antonio Four” Film Screening & Panel
Watch the documentary about the San Antonio Four and their incredible story. The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion.
Tuesday (March 7):
Noon: Careers with the Department of Justice and current civil initiatives featuring Daniel D. Hu, Room 109.
The chief of the civil division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, Hu will speak about Department of Justice career paths and current civil initiatives facing the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Wednesday (March 8):
Noon: Religion & The Law Panel, Room 109
How does religious practice and faith (or lack thereof) inform a lawyer’s legal practice? A panel of faith-diverse attorneys will talk about how their personal faiths impact their practice of the law.
