A grandmother was found dead outside a home in Cypress, Texas Sunday afternoon, with her grandson now facing murder charges, KHOU reports. Police were called to the house by family members of Hazel Billingsley, 67, who said her 21-year-old grandson Nathan Billingsley had threatened to kill her.

The woman’s relatives called police after they could no longer reach her by phone on Sunday. Family members said that they saw Nathan Billingsley loading his grandmother’s possessions into her car outside the home, and that when they approached, he and his girlfriend fled on foot.

The grandmother’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in a metal shed in the home’s backyard. Police searched the nearby wooded area where they found Nathan Billingsley and his girlfriend.

While his girlfriend was let go after questioning, Nathan Billingsley is now facing a pending murder charge.

Billingsley reportedly told investigators his grandmother’s death was an accident. Authorities have not released her cause of death.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case. If anyone has any information regarding the investigation, they are asked to contact investigators at 713-274-9201.
