The Buddy Holly Center announces John Franklin: The Natural Beauty of Wood. Woodworking artist John Franklin will display his latest creations fashioned from a variety of woods. Franklin uses a lathe to transform wood into functional and sculptural forms, with the goal of maximizing the natural grain and inherent beauty of each type of wood. His raw materials come from all over the world, but he’s especially fond of using Texas woods such as mesquite, cottonwood, hackberry, and Manzanita.
The exhibit will be on display in the Foyer Gallery from July 17 to August 23, 2015.
