The Buddy Holly Center presents Mariachi Amistad as part of the 2016 Summer Showcase Concert Series, the weekly Thursday night concert held in the Meadows Courtyard. On July 28, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Mariachi Amistad will perform Mariachi music. The concert is FREE and open to the public. There will be a cash bar, beverages and food available for purchase. Please, no outside beverages allowed.
Mariachi Amistad is an 11-piece ensemble with instruments representing traditional folklore music. They were established in 1998 by a group of local musicians who all shared the same passion for the excitement, balance and drama of Mariachi music. They play music that tells stories of heartbreak, betrayal and celebrating the simple things in life. Mariachi Amistad has performed at events all over Lubbock including The Buddy Holly Music Festival, Magic 93.7’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Fourth on Broadway and the Concert on the Brazos series at the Science Spectrum.
