Bishop Plácido Rodríguez, CMF, of the Catholic Diocese of Lubbock will celebrate the annual Marriage Jubilee Mass at Christ the King Cathedral, 4011 54th Street, Lubbock, on Sunday, October 2, 2013, at 3 p.m.
During the Jubilee Mass, couples married 25 and 50 years and beyond will renew their commitment to their Vows of Holy Matrimony. This year, couples married as long as 65 years will be honored. A reception will follow the Jubilee Mass in the Family Activity Center east of the Cathedral. Families and friends of the jubilarians, as well as all interested persons, are welcome to attend.
The Diocese of Lubbock hosts the annual Marriage Jubilee celebration to highlight and promote our married couples. Marriage matters because of the positive effects it has on social health, children’s achievement, and overall social economic impact. Research shows children have a healthier life, greater success in school and better parent/child relationships living in a healthy married family.
