While it may be the “most wonderful time of the year,” it can also be the most stressful, especially if parents aren’t too sure of what to get their children this holiday season.

According to a report by CBS MoneyWatch, among the most sought-after gifts are Hatchimals, which are flying off the shelves. Retail prices are as low as $49.99, and can be found online being sold for as much as $300. Other popular toys on wish-lists are Star Wars R2D2, Lego sets, Barbie dolls from the new “Fashionista” line and tech gadgets and drones.

So what are the most popular toys across the Hub City? We caught up with Santa down at the South Plains Mall to find out:

“Well most of them have been asking for the Paw Patrol, dream houses, and Legos are great. A lot of people ask for Legos, and then those hover boards. They’re out of this world,” shared the man in red. “

Nayelijh Gonzalez, a student from Levelland ABC, shared what she hopes to see under her Christmas tree this year.

“I want a Barbie house!” Gonzalez said she’d also be fine with getting a new puppy named ‘Ariel.’

“I want a snowboard,” said Aaron Cook, who also shared that his favorite part about Christmas were the reindeer.

But as the years go by and the kids get older, Santa did say that some of these requests are getting a little more advanced.

“Sometimes they surprise you when they get up there and are like 7 or 8 years old they’re already asking for cell phones,” said Santa. ‘That is something. They keep getting younger and younger asking for cell phones.”

“Cell phones or even iPads and those types of things are definitely a very hot item this year,” said Beth Bridges, property manager of the South Plains Mall. “He [Santa] also reports that those remote control hover boards and helicopters and those types of toys are very popular.”

You can visit Santa Claus down at the South Plains Mall now through Christmas Eve. Don’t forget to leave him milk and cookies (he tells us chocolate chip are his favorite)!
