Members of the Texas Tech Pom Squad take to the sidelines to cheer on the Red Raiders at many different sporting events, but there’s more that meets the eye when it comes to this team. They spend hours dancing in the studio, but they also spend hours working out with a trainers, going to meetings, appearances and training for their national competition. Head coach Erin Harold has high expectations for the team on the field and in the classroom.
“I think that the expectations of them are very similar to a student athlete, but one of the difference though is that they don’t have a season,” Harold said. “Their season is 365 days a year, so I think if people saw this side of it they might reconsider how athletic our sport is.”
