Tuesday, June 14, The United Family®, which operates United Supermarkets and Market Street in Lubbock, will present the South Plains Food Bank with 14,518 pounds of food. The donation is part of The United Family’s yearlong celebration of the 100th anniversary of United Supermarkets, the company’s flagship banner.

With a total donation of 116,146 pounds of food, local food banks across West Texas, Dallas – Fort Worth and Eastern New Mexico will be able to provide more than 96,000 meals to approximately 32,000 families in their communities. The contribution will be made in anticipation of fall and winter months, when donations are needed most.
