For the past 24 years, United and Lubbock Meals on Wheels has partnered together for the “Feed a Friend- it’s Easy as Pie” fundraiser, and throughout those years have been able to raise $875,000 to help people across Lubbock remain in their homes and still receive a hot and nutritious meal. The fundraiser kicks off on Nov. 11 and goes through the 19.
Donations can be made at local United Supermarkets at the check out counter, or at the Lubbock Meals on Wheels officer, at 2304 34th St. For every $5 donation to Lubbock Meals on Wheels, donors will receive a coupon for a free Sara Lee pie. Coupons are redeemable at Lubbock United Supermarkets through Dec. 31. For more information call (806) 792-7971.
