The Gray County Emergency Management Office said three people died in Northeast Gray County during wildfires in the Texas Panhandle. They were trying to save cattle.
Gray County confirmed the three as Cody Crockett, Sydney Wallace and Sloan Everett.
The Lipscomb County Sheriff’s Office said one person died as the result of a different fire.
The fire in Gray and Wheeler Counties was extinguished about 4:30 Tuesday morning according to Sandi Martin with the Gray County EOC.
Martin said there were no reports of structure damage but officials believe there will be a loss of cattle.
