A 3-year-old Clay County boy is undergoing emergency treatment after being shot while playing Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 3 p.m. at FM 148 on Buffalo Springs Lane, just south of Bellevue.
A witness said the boy was bouncing on the bed in a trailer home when he landed on a pistol, and it went off.
Authorities say when the pistol went off, it struck the boy in the back of the head.
Air Evac responded and officials say the boy was still believed to be breathing when it took off for United Regional.
