The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to make traffic changes along the US 84 bridge project limits [this] week. Beginning Monday, July 18, northbound FM 2528 (Frankford Avenue) traffic wanting to access eastbound US 84 will be detoured onto Kent Street to make the connection. The detour will allow crews to safely begin work to rebuild the intersection.
Additionally, Frankford Avenue, south of US 84, will be reduced to one-lane of traffic in each direction. South- and northbound Frankford thru-traffic and US 84 traffic will still have access to the intersection at this time, but motorists traveling these roadways can anticipate additional traffic changes in the near-future.
Work to rebuild the intersection is anticipated to continue through mid-August and is part of a $29 million project to reconstruct the US 84/north Frankford Avenue interchange by building new US 84 bridges. The closure and work will take place weather permitting.
