The volunteer Wolfforth fire department was dispatched at 10:00 AM to a home on the corner of third and steck street where flames were coming out of a home. The Wolfforth fire captain, Henry High, said it took the crew 45 minutes to put out the fire, and that the home has been classified as ‘a total loss’.

“When we arrived to the scene there was heavy smoke, black smoke, coming up rising into the air out, from the back of the house, and out of the eves of the house,  around the entire trailer house.” said High.  “The flame was coming out of the back window, or back portions.”

The tenants of the home were not present during the fire, and have been notified of the incident. Back door neighbor, Albert Torres said he woke up this morning hearing a weird sound.

“I heard some popping sounds and I walk outside and I just saw flames over the fence there, and I was going to call somebody but I saw the city drive by and they were going to get somebody to stop the fire.” said Torres.

Kevin Henricks has been a volunteer firefighter with the West Carlisle department, and he said that he’s thankful they have such a strong relationship with Wolfforth, to have as many hands on deck as possible.

“Wolfforth and us work together quite a bit since in the city we’re the second closest department to wolfforth fire department and they automatically dispatched us to come help with this fire.” said Henricks.
