Jessica Leigh Traylor, 20, pleaded guilty Monday morning to a charge of intoxication manslaughter for the 2013 death of Liandro Garcia, 47.

Traylor agreed to serve six years of prison time followed by 10 years of probation.

Traylor, age 17 at the time, had been drinking at a party according to official records.  Police said she then drove while intoxicated and ran a red light at 19th Street and Quaker Avenue.  Her vehicle hit Garcia’s motorcycle and the crash ended up being a six-vehicle pile up.

Monday, a number of Garcia’s family members were in the courtroom.

“He was an amazing man, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his kids or his wife. He impacted a lot of lives, just all around a mountain of a man,” Garcia’s youngest son Angel, said.

“I love him, I miss him,” he said. “It’s been rough, there’s not a day that goes by that he’s not thought of, and hopefully now, he can see that he got justice.”

“He’s a Godly man, and he taught us very well, him and my mom,” Garcia’s daughter, Michelle Hernandez, said. “We miss him and we got some form of justice, she could never really pay, because he’s not here, there’s not really any form of justice for a life being taken, but we miss him and love him, and just glad it’s over.”
