The city of Lubbock will welcome 1,500 triathletes from all over the world on June 23-25 for the 28th annual Mannatech Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon. 

The triathlon festival includes the Tri Raider Sprint Triathlon, the Easy Rider Olympic Triathlon and the Little Bison Kids Triathlon all happening on June 24. The main event kicks off on June 25 in which athletes will complete at 1.2 mile lake swim, a 56-mile bike course through the Llano Estacado Canyons and finish with a half-marathon run around the Buffalo Springs Lake. 

The entire weekend will highlight the growing sport. Athletes will be supported by 500 volunteers, cheered on by 4,500 spectators and they will leave behind $2.6 million into the Lubbock economy. 

Saturday and Sundays events are free and open to the public to spectate, however there is a $10 fee to enter the Buffalo Springs Lake. There is more information at www.buffalospringslaketriathlon.com.
