Texas Tech welcomes UT-Rio Grande Valley into Lubbock on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. for a throwback game celebrating past and present Lady Raiders. The team will honor the past by wearing special throwback uniforms.

“We are very excited to return to the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum,” Head Coach Candi Whitaker said. “The history and tradition of our program is rooted in the Coliseum and to have a game that honors all the players that contributed to that foundation as well as Coach Sharp and the legacy she built is very special.”

The Lubbock Municipal Coliseum served as Texas Tech’s home court for 22 seasons. During that span, the Lady Raiders captured five Southwest Conference regular season championships, three Southwest Conference tournament championships, the first Big 12 regular season and tournament championships since joining the new conference and Texas Tech’s first and only NCAA National Championship.

The Lady Raiders posted a 33-home game win streak from 1994-1997 inside the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum including two undefeated seasons at home (1993-94 & 1995-96).

Current Lady Raider season ticket holders can purchase their tickets starting today by logging into their online account at TexasTech.com or by calling the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office at (806) 742-TECH (8324).
