The 5th Annual David Montalvo Scholarship Jam will take place on August 5th at the South Plains Shrine Club in remembrance of David Montalvo.
Montalvo was a teacher in in the local area who cared about his students and the community. He was a veteran of the United States military and an avid baseball fan.
Sadly, David died after a battle with cancer, but his family continues his legacy with the David Montalvo Scholarship Jam filled with music every year.
Montalvo was a rock music fan, so there will be many different rock bands playing at the event, including “Wade Parks,” “Southern Shade,” “Devil Ridge,” “Bozo Tejingo,” ‘School of Rock,” “Vice Versa,” “5 Play,” “Mohave Sol,” “Underkover” and “Equis.”
The event will begin at 2 p.m. and will go until midnight. There will be food available for purchase and it is bring your own beer. There is a $5 admission fee to attend.
