Puppy training can be hard, especially when you’re busy working at a news station. That’s why Rocking Paw is working with Kelby, by helping her work on the basics of dog training.
Jolynn Payne, the owner of Rocking Paw, said one of the most important keys to successfully training a dog is having a solid reward system. A reward can be anything from a treat, to a vocal command, to a ride in the car.
Payne also stressed the importance of body massages for dogs. Body massages consist of rubbing the dog in areas where a it may feel uncomfortable being touched like the feet, the mouth, or the legs.
The purpose of body massages is to help a dog feel more comfortable with strangers touching them in unusual places, like at a veterinarians office or a groomer.
