It was a refusal to be ordinary that led Trey Culver to heights he didn’t even know that he could reach.

In a sport, he never thought he would compete in.

“I didn’t even know that high jump existed until high school, maybe freshman or sophomore year,” Texas Tech sophomore high jumper Trey Culver said.

However, four years and change later, Culver made Tech, the first and only university to win back to back indoor high jump titles with two different athletes.

Following in the footsteps of his former teammate, Jacorian Duffield, who Culver says, really layed the blueprint for him.

With the outdoor national championships, Culver could become only the second Red Raider to win both indoor and outdoor titles.
