At this time, the Texas Tech Equestrian Team’s English Squad is leading Zone 7 Region 2 as High Point team for this season, with 3 riders already individually qualified for the Regional Championships. Hannah Johnson (Sophomore, from Dallas, TX) is currently leading the region for High Point Rider and if she keeps her lead will default through to Nationals for the Cacchione Cup which is an equestrian equivalent to the Heisman. Regan Anderson (Sophomore, from Wylie, TX and Charlie Snider (Junior, from Corinth, TX) are already qualified for the Regional Finals.

Eight more riders are still in range to qualify for Regional Championships. Texas Tech currently has a 15 point lead as a team going into the final show weekend.  With that lead and a win in the region (which has never been done by Texas Tech on the English side before) TTU equestrians will continue on to the Zone 7 Team Championships held April 9th at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. Riders who place first or second at Regional Championships will progress to Zones as Individuals.

The top two teams & top two riders in each individuals class from Zones will then progress to National Championships which is May 5 – 8th at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.
