The Killeen Independent School District says it has learned that some students and staff at four campuses may have been exposed to tuberculosis.

KISD was contacted by the Bell County Health Department with the information.

The district has not  not released to the media which campuses were affected but instead says parents of select students at the respective campuses who may have potentially been in contact with someone exposed have been notified.

As a precautionary measure, the Bell County Public Health Department has recommended that these select students and staff themselves be screened for TB.

Since the notification, the district facilities in question have been cleaned and disinfected.

The school district says that it and the Bell County Health Department are fully committed to working together to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff and community.
